To offer the best possible pregnancy care.

General Obstetrics

My aim throughout your pregnancy is to keep you informed and in control. From the first visit all the way to the birth, I will answer your questions and help you make decisions. This is your pregnancy and birth and I will do my best to help you achieve not just a healthy baby and good recovery, but a rewarding and positive transition from pregnancy to parenthood.

At the first visit, which is usually around 8-9 weeks, I will confirm that your pregnancy is progressing normally on ultrasound in my consulting rooms and check the due date of your baby.

During the regular antenatal visits there is ample opportunity to ask questions, and talk through the issues that arise in pregnancy. My goal is not only the early identification of pregnancy complications, but also to ensure that you are confident and well prepared so that your birth experience is as stress-free as possible.

High Risk Pregnancy

I have a particular interest in high-risk pregnancy and can offer specialist obstetric care for women with the most complicated pregnancies. High-Risk pregnancies include:

  • Twin Pregnancy
  • Vaginal Birth after Caesarean Section (VBAC)
  • Maternal Medical Conditions (Eg. Cardiac conditions, Type I Diabetes, Lupus…)
  • Poor Obstetrics outcomes in the past (Eg. Cervical insufficiency, Preterm labour, stillbirth)
  • Emergent Obstetric conditions during the pregnancy (Fetal growth restriction, early onset pre-eclampsia)
  • Fetal congenital malformations

I offer prepregnancy advice for all couples considering a pregnancy. Areas for discussion include:

  • Optimisation of medical conditions for a safe pregnancy
    - Blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, SLE….
  • Debrief about previous pregnancy outcomes
    - Pregnancy loss, traumatic birth
  • Extended carrier screening
    - As many as 400 recessive genetic conditions can now be screened for prepregnancy
